I had a wonderful weekend.  Friday morning was a mad rush around town picking up a rental van and then driving 10+ hours to the West with 6 other crazy kids (or you know, 19-32 year olds).  Mags (from Dublin) and I copiloted the minivan to MN and managed to get only a little lost before we actually picked up any passengers.  Its been a long time since I've been able to spend hours upon hours with fun people and laughing that hard.  There was one point on the weekend that I felt like I was not only acting like a 10 year old but was uncontrollably goofy (and loving it).  Dancing to Oldies in a freezing Minnesota parking lot will not do much for one's reputation, but my soul needed to break out and dance.  Its a very free(z)ing experience.
Mags is one person that I can absolutely respect and that I will always have fun with.  She had a number of insights into my life, and could be candid/honest/blunt in situations that I won't let most other people into.  We laughed and laughed and called someone's bladder Fred.  I could tolerate singing in the car :-O and we escaped the unfortunate 21st out of 20 questions.
We were able to take a little adventure down to ND in SB (IN) and go to mass with some not so crazy grad students AND see my sister Ann, courtesy of Hannah's sister Martha.  The retreat was okay spiritually, but ultimately it fulfilled my need for a real mental vacation and renewal.  I felt like I was glowing :)

Back at school, things are good, but I already feel tired of school.  I have a ton of fairly uninteresting reading and too much printing for my poor LSA student account.  I may have to spring for that $50 coursepack.  blech.  ASB is picking up, but our brilliant bakesale scheduled for this weekend has been tentatively rescheduled for the 15th of February.  Meaning that I will potentially have to get at least 6/10 people with their gf/bf to make cookies for me.  Baking together is fun and romantic, right?  Sure...those other 4 including me may or may not be dating someone...but it could be a very lonely miss p collaborating with others on "single awareness day" to finance a way down to KY.  Actually, I'm a little quirkyalone, so I'd be fine.  It will all work out, its just disappointed when your perfectly laid plans go so quickly awry.

I at least made a dent in my hw and had a fairly good tango lesson, though I missed swing...and Ann and I made a trip to the library.  I felt like I was taking a 14 year old boy to a stripjoint.  She's a little scary when it comes to power :)  The book suggestion and a tour of the library was a "present" from me.  I think she likes it.
